WOW!!! I’m a busy bee!!!

// November 30th, 2008 // life the universe and everything, personal

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I say ‘everyone’ but since I really haven’t released this site to the public yet, it’s just probably you, me and all the search spiders that have been catching development copies.

I’ve had *so* much going on this month of November I can’t even talk about it yet.  But know that I *will* talk about it soon.  Very soon.  Until then, I’ll just have to save all the copies in my “draft” folder and keep them marked “to-do”.

Today, on this last little day of November I mourned a relationship (which is in its death-throughs despite being only a few months old) and the fact that I failed miserably in my aspirations to complete NaNoWriMo two years in a row. (editors note:  wait, wait, wait…I *did* finish NaNo last year!  I wrote 73k words last year!) I got about 30k words this year.  Just too much background noise happening in my life to be able to settle down on a regular basis and write some words!

*SIGH*

I’m cool with it.  But I know that I’m able to do better.  And, to make matters worse I know why I didn’t get it done.  I’m not cool with making excuses for myself, but suffice to say I allowed someone without the same priorities inside the gates and I’ve been managing that for a few months.

Distracted.

Bah!  That’s another excuse.  Fact is I didn’t get my NaNoWriMo goal for the year.  Which means I didn’t earn a paperback copy of my manuscript printed free as a keepsake.  Oh well.  My co-worker, KevLord, finished and I’m glad for him.  Maybe next year!

I also have been trying to tidy up my Flick’r galleries and sets.  Since I have over eight-thousand images this is really quite a task.  Fun, though going through all those old galleries of my 2 year old washing the car in her bathing-suit! She’s nine now, so seeing those old photos made my heart sing.

I’ve also been trying to gather up all my old photo and design stuff.  Since I’ve been quite the digital web-monster for the past 10 years, this has been challenging.  I’ve learned that without appropriate space, I don’t archive old work very well.  It looks old and damaged!  :(

Frowny-face on that!  But it is what it is and I’ve got to make the best of it.  Right-oh.  Story of my life.  Slightly damaged…making the best of it.

Aren’t we all?
