This is my old-man cat, Griffin. He’s the best friend a grrrl could ever want. In this short clip, he’s annoyed at Mia, who is trying to video him while he’s getting his bisquit on!

A video, taken by my 10 year old daughter, while alone in her room. She does *lots* of these where she videos (using a camera she didn’t know recorded sound!) and talks, as if she’s recording an expose for television.
In this one…she claims a red ink-stain, where the Chaos cats knocked a whole bottle of red ink onto the side of the sofa, is BLOOD…from her LAST VICTIM!!!
I love it!

My daughter, Mia, is learning how to use a digital camera. I’ve given her my old Cannon to play with and she’s always folling us around and snapping hundreds of pictures and taking dozen of videos. Here she is in Mama’s bedroom where P. and China are innocently discussing various accupressure points (…really!!!)
What we didn’t realize is that the digital Elph has *SOUND*!!! Wow! Technology.

Years ago I went to Woodridge High School with Kevin Coughlin, so I got a taste of his personality and ethics at that petry-dish level, but I have a better, clearer and more unique insight! I was his neighbor when I was about eight years old. (We’re the same age.)
I’ll keep it simple; I don’t like him. I vote for whoever is running against him because I know that no matter what they stand for! Now that’s not a very good way of picking a candidate, but it’s really quite simple. Kevin Coughlin has always been a plastic, skin-deep, self-serving egoist who seems to find the “power” that legislative positions hold massaging to his sense of self (ego).
I respect someone who can carefully craft their life and livelihood in order to achieve their goals. I get that part and I take no offence to it. But his view are so much aligned with the paid-off, graft of the good ole’ boys and he claims to want “sweeping changes” in government, but really he just wants a bigger office and a better tailored suit.
So now he’s running for governor of Ohio in 2010. He releases an “impromptu” video of why in which he alters time!!!
It’s true.
Don’t vote for the slippery little guy. It’s really a bad idea.
I'm China Darrington and I approve of this message.

(made you click, didn't I? Well I took that title straight from National Geographic, so take it up with their editorial department...not mine!)
“As we have long suspected…the longest and spiniest male genitalia is the one who gets the “job done” most often…”
And thus I give you photos of the large, spiny beetle phalluses:

C. maculatus - "Has the longest and spiniest male genitalia, which resemble "medieval torture instruments,"
But they also get the job done: Sperm from male seed beetles with the longest and spiniest sexual organs beat out their shorter competition in a recent study, to be reported in the March 10, 2009, issue of the journal Current Biology.
As male seed beetles’ genitalia have evolved to be spinier, the bugs’ reproductive success has improved, experts say in a study to be released in March 2009.
At the same time, females’ genitalia have evolved in a sort of “arms race,” the study says.
Females have thick padding on their reproductive tract that’s reinforced with strong, elastic connective tissue. After each mating—about five to ten in a lifetime—the wounds heal and leave scar tissue.
Wounding females during mating is likely just an “unfortunate side effect” of the males’ reproductive strategy, the study authors said.
To obtain close-up views of seed beetles’ spiny male genitalia (above, hooks, spines, and barbs in C. rhodesianus), scientists first put the insect under carbon dioxide anesthesia. The scientists then pumped up the sexual organ with a tiny artificial inflator powered by a water-jet vacuum pump.
Once fully inflated, the genitalia were stabilized in 212-degree-Fahrenheit (100-degree-Celsius) water and photographed.
They “inflated” the genitalia??? A water-jet vacuum pump? That I’d love to have seen video of!!! Beetle penis-pump porn!!!

This was my bedroom growing up. Notice my love of Marilyn Monroe and I think there is a poster of RL on my wall, as well as a few Lew drawings and a Van’s shoe. (The other shoe I lost in a river on a canoeing field-trip).
Oh, see those little plaques on the wall to my left? Those are the individual prizes for the”King of Flatland” competition.
I always got a kick of being a grrrl “king”.

This is the very first page, from the very first issue of “GO” magazine. GO, a combination of “Freestylin’” and “BMX Action” had the master cluster of editorial staff; Mark Lewman, Andy Jenkins and Spike Jonze.
This is Lew’s introduction to the new baby…

This photo was taken by Jon Ker (I think) at Venice Beach at a photo shoot for GT BMX and a trip won by a guy named Zach P.
No, the car isn’t mine. It was just in the parking lot when we did the shoot and made an interesting background.

I got my head, but my head is unraveling
Cant keep control, cant keep track of where its traveling
I got my heart but my heart is no good
And youre the only one thats understood
I come along but I dont know where youre taking me
I shouldnt go but youre reaching back and shaking me
Turn off the sun, pull the stars from the sky
The more I give to you, the more I die
*sigh*

My friend, who I inherited because he was a friend of my then-boyfriend Joe Gruttola.
Brian ended up coming out to lil’ ole Akron to attend the University of Akron, getting a photography degree like myself.
He’s gone onto become some fancy-pants photographer…all published in ArtForum and such…
Huzzah!
