Libra,
Your partner will react badly to your criticism and you will regret what you have said, so resolve this, immediately. At work, you are dissatisfied but you don’t even know why; maybe you feel the need for a new incentive.
Today your imagination may be running away with you which can make you rather moody. Being more detached will help. You are a sympathetic listener, subtly tuned into the emotional undercurrents around. This is not a day to keep your feelings to yourself. So go flirt, have fun, play games with loved ones.
Although you are still in quite a creative phase, it may be difficult for you to feel as if you can accomplish much today. You may be stressed because others expect more from you, but there is little you can do about it without sacrificing the quality of your work. Nevertheless, it’s incumbent on you to stay as focused as possible. If you do, your efforts will bear fruit and be rewarded.

Dog – 29 Sep 2009
Attempts to mend ties with a family member could amount to a lot of wasted effort for you. Even more frustrating is that you may be left with no time to devote to the domestic projects you had planned on completing. Relax, and just remember that there is always tomorrow.
The Moon is in Aquarius
There is an increased interest in knowledge, and a need to communicate with like-minded individuals. At the same time, your desire for freedom and independence is strengthened, and you will want to establish your own rules. It is a good period for reading, study and scientific pursuits. However, activities which require subordination and discipline, as well as jobs which bore you, will go from bad to worse now.

Ching 64 |
I’ve been doing T’ai Chi for about 5 months now. I love it. I love that it is slow, a moving meditation. I love seeing how the motions connect the five bodies and the five elements. I love the flow and the form. I am a beginner. I love being a beginner. I no nothing. I love knowing nothing.
It rocks.
So I’ve just gotten to the point where what I learn in class is awesome, but I want more. I’m such a gluttonous addict. It’s completely contrary to T’ai Chi. So I observe that I want to chew down hour upon hour of form and keep my teachers on the phone for hours asking questions. But this is not T’ai Chi. So I get one book every two weeks from the library and I read it in the bath. I read slowly, sipping tea. I think about what is being said.
One of these books is Vincent Chu’s book “Beginner’s T’ai Chi Chuan“. Tai chi chuan is known at the Supreme Ultimate art – it at once embraces Taoist philosophy, is a holistic health exercise and is an effective self defense art. No wonder millions of people practice tai chi on a daily basis, making it the world’s most popular health and self-defense system. The tai chi presented in this book grew from the author’s experience in teaching at community education programs and is written with the novice in mind. As such, the traditional Yang family long form has been abbreviated and those movements that beginners usually find difficult to perform have been removed – in this way, beginners will be able to learn faster and thus start obtaining the health benefits of practicing tai chi right away.
Vincent Chu is a Sifu of the Gin Soon Tai Chi Chuan Federation in Boston, Mass.

OMG! This house is *so* beautiful. On the water. Aged wood. Tiny. This is it! Nirvana.
Thanks to Tiny House Blog for posting this!
I read. A lot. I know this. It is a big, wide world out there and I’ve got a lot to learn about it. I’ve given up trying to understand much of it and instead embraced just participating more fully in the experience. I’ve learned that the magick moments happen when I share authentic, open interaction with something; a being, a place, a thought. I’ve learned that all of these majick moments pass and that its useless to cling to the transient pleasures they bring. I’ve learned that its all good…even the bad stuff.
The book “Sacred Time and the Search for Meaning” by Gary Eberle is one such book that illustrated the need to create sacred time in our everyday lives. Yes, that included you, ‘busy person’ and you too ’single mom’. It’s not about running off to an ashram for two months a year or shirking responsibilities, it’s about weaving sacred moments; an hour a day, a day a week, a week a month and a month a year, into your busy, busy lives.
In Sacred Time and the Search for Meaning, author Gary Eberle contemplates how humans’ view of time has evolved throughout history, how we came to measure time, and why we feel especially starved for it now. Eberle seeks to rediscover a renewed sense of meaning in life through looking for ways to enter the realm of sacred time or “sabbath time”—where we can reconnect with the slower, deeper rhythms of life that have traditionally been experienced through worship, prayer, and the observance of holy days. Drawing from the work of Western philosophers from Aristotle to Heidegger, and on theorists from Jung to Foucault, he presents both an intellectual history of time and a personal account of his own search for sacred time. Along the way he formulates an insightful analysis of our culture’s obsession with speed and efficiency, and he offers guidance for slowing down to savor life outside of schedules and routines, showing the way toward finding fulfillment in this increasingly accelerated world.
Libra:
This is a great period for your sign and everybody, your family, old acquaintances and your loved one will hug you. If you are single, a really interesting meeting is likely. Tip: reciprocate with love.
Libra – The Sun enters your sign on Tuesday, promising a fresh burst of energy as the week goes on. The Sun in Virgo (along with last week’s Saturn-Uranus opposition, the Virgo New Moon and the ongoing Mercury retrograde) was accentuating your Saturn task of karmic closet-cleaning, probably in not-so-delightful fashion. This week is at least a small step forward from the heavy Saturn work of mining your past history for the energetic blocks that must be cleared in order for you to step fully into your power over the next three years. You may also get a surprisingly clear picture this week of what the truly important life work is for you between October and the end of the Mayan Calendar in 2012. Pay attention to what your soul is telling you about your relationship to the Earth now, regardless of how “impossible” or far out it might seem. The world transition through deep darkness and into a new light continues to accelerate and part of your role in helping us survive this transition will be communicating a higher truth about Mother Earth and our responsibilities to her. I’m not sure I completely dig the “fear vibration” of the Yes Men’s latest stunt, but if you haven’t seen their fake New York Post edition on climate change, it might inspire a few ideas.
You want everyone to be as comfortable as possible yet today others don’t seem to be very receptive to your gracious gestures. You could become frustrated as you run through all your tricks, but you still don’t seem to be getting through. Fortunately, you might just succeed if you stop trying so hard. Instead of attempting to change anyone else’s mind, concentrate on doing whatever makes you happier. Leading by example works better now than believing that you can fix everything.

The precise moment of the First Quarter was 12:50 am Sep, 26 2009
A stressful period of time when there is a strong desire to accomplish something, to change, and to show oneself. However, before undertaking anything, first stop and think: is it really needed? Obstacles multiply at this time and contradictions sharpen. Plans developed under this influence often turn out to be unrealistic because people tend to overvalue their abilities.

Seeing ourselves in others |
“It will not make us better people to judge the faults of another.”
Basic Text, p. 37
––––=––––
How easy it is to point out the faults of others! There’s a reason for this: The defects we identify most easily in others are often the defects we are most familiar with in our own characters. We may notice our best friend’s tendency to spend too much money, but if we examine our own spending habits we’ll probably find the same compulsiveness. We may decide our sponsor is much too involved in service, but find that we haven’t spent a single weekend with our families in the past three months because of one service commitment or another.
What we dislike in our fellows are often those things we dislike most in ourselves. We can turn this observation to our spiritual advantage. When we are stricken with the impulse to judge someone else, we can redirect the impulse in such a way as to recognize our own defects more clearly. What we see will guide our actions toward recovery and help us become emotionally healthy and happy individuals.
––––=––––
Just for today: I will look beyond the character defects of others and recognize my own.
I have a stack of books that I’m finished reading that I need to enter my notes on. Today’s entry is Paulo Coelho’s “Veronika Decides to Die”. Many of Paula Coelho’s books are novels with a theme; this books theme is a novel of redemption.
The synopsis of this book from the back jacket is:
“Twenty-four-year-old Veronika seems to have everything – youth and beauty, boyfriends and a loving family, a fulfilling job. But something is missing in her life. So, one cold November morning, she takes a handful of sleeping pills expecting never to wake up. But she does – at a mental hospital where she is told that she has only days to live.
Inspired by events in Coelho’s own life, Veronika Decides to Die questions the meaning of madness and celebrates individuals who do not fit into patters society considers to be normal. Bold and illuminating, it is a dazzling portrait of a young woman at the crossroads of despair and liberation, and a poetic, exuberant appreciation of each day as a renewed opportunity.”
Here are the notes I too from this book:
| Wu Wang: Simplicity, Listen to what your internal voice suggests and go forward doing things you know are right. Do not act for a particular aim, hoping for a financial reward. Be simple and listen to your profound being. Act freely and with serenity. |

The Fourth Step—fearing our feelings |
“We may fear that being in touch with our feelings will trigger an overwhelming chain reaction of pain and panic.”
Basic Text, p. 29
––––=––––
A common complaint about the Fourth Step is that it makes us painfully conscious of our defects of character. We may be tempted to falter in our program of recovery. Through surrender and acceptance, we can find the resources we need to keep working the steps.
It’s not the awareness of our defects that causes the most agony—it’s the defects themselves. When we were using, all we felt was the drugs; we could ignore the suffering our defects were causing us. Now that the drugs are gone, we feel that pain. Refusing to acknowledge the source of our anguish doesn’t make it go away; denial protects the pain and makes it stronger. The Twelve Steps help us deal with the misery caused by our defects by dealing directly with the defects themselves.
If we hurt from the pain of our defects, we can remind ourselves of the nightmare of addiction, a nightmare from which we’ve now awakened. We can recall the hope for release the Second Step gave us. We can again turn our will and our lives over, through the Third Step, to the care of the God of our understanding. Our Higher Power cares for us by giving us the help we need to work the rest of the Twelve Steps. We don’t have to fear our feelings. Just for today, we can continue in our recovery.
––––=––––
Just for today: I won’t be afraid of my feelings. With the help of my Higher Power, I’ll continue in my recovery.
| Tung Jen: Fellowship, To achieve your aims, you will have to unite with virtuous people. Indeed it will be easier to reach every objective if a group of individuals( albeit of different characters), had the same common goal. However always keep your own personality and act so that you enrichen one another. |

…too friggin’ adorable!
by Patrick McCleary | 8:23 PM in children, mabon, story |
“Grandfather, is the next story of the Gods, the one for Mabon, is it sad?” asked the little girl as she looked up with tears in her eyes. “I don’t know if we can take another sad story”
The Grandfather paused for a moment and looked down at her upturned face and said, “The next two stories are sadder then the last. But they only make you sad because you have forgotten how it all ends and begins at Yule.”
“You mean the rebirth of the Sun King and the Goddess becoming young again?”
“Yes children that is exactly what I mean. For you see there must be sadness if there is to be happiness or we wouldn’t appreciate it. There must be winter for every summer so that everything can have a chance to rest.
“And that is what this Sabbat is about. It is the finishing of the work to prepare for the winter. The harvest of the fruit and vine and the storing of supplies and repairing of tools and such.
“But it is also the time that the Goddess leaves us on her annual journey to the Underworld in search of her lost love, the Sun King. For with his death, the magick that they had laid in the Spring had began to fade and Winter was coming fast. And this was a fitting time for her to leave because the fruit that is harvested is like her. They are the womb that holds the seed with a promise of new life. And she is the same.
“So She went to the shore and lit a bonfire of the sacred woods and began to chant and to dance. Longer and faster did She dance. Around and around she spun and finally Her spirit lifted from Her body and began its long journey down into the Underworld.
“I will not speak of all the scary things that she faced. From Giants and Ogres to Dragons and other Wyrms all seeked to block her way. But none were strong enough to block her path. For she came in love everlasting and of course, having been this way before, she knew the ways to avoid most dangers.
“But finally She came to a pool glowing with Golden Light and the scent of roses filled the air around Her. She had finally found her lost love. But he slept with the sleep of Death on the edge of the pool.
“With Her voice raised in song, she began to wash the body of the fallen Sun King. She sang of power and love. Of racing across the green grass in spring and the warmth of the Sun in late summer. The smell of all the flowers in bloom and the feel of swimming in cool water on a hot summer day. All the things that the Sun King could bring back to the Earth if he only lived.
“Finally after what seemed an eternity the Sun King awoke and looked at Her and smiled. ‘My Goddess,’ he said, ‘I have not the strength to return in this body. I will not survive the journey back into the land of the living. But I will dissolve my body and go into you as a spark of life that you can foster and grow until the time is right and ordained.’
And with a last breath He did just that. With a burst of light his body turned into energy and infused the Goddess, further aging her but giving her the strength to make the new Sun within her.
“And so with this She began her journey back to the land of living. Now see children there is always hope even in the darkest of times. The Sun has begun his journey back to join us in the land of the living. And the Goddess while apart from us is soon to return.”
With this the children smiled, for the story wasn’t as sad as they had expected it to be. And it let them know that all was going to be OK.

The difficulties seem to vanish into air and you will feel a newborn eagerness for something new at work. In Love, constructive dialog with your partner seems to have finally replaced your discontent.
The Autumnal Equinox brings the diminishing light of the Sun into your 1st House of Personality, provoking you to seek ways to extend the energy of the summer. But your attempts to prevent the onset of fall are fruitless. Your lesson now is to stay in the present moment and to find peace within the larger cycles you cannot control.

RUNE of the DAY: ALGIZ
Protection
The symbol of Algiz was frequently inscribed on shields to symbolize protection. Algiz symbolizes defense of all that is sacred to you. Remember true nature. Algiz symbolizes a connection to the divine, but also the separation of man from divinity.

HEXAGRAM #49: TRANSFORMATION
This hexagram implies a time of great change. It is important to remember that there will be no mistakes made at this time. Change is what happens — not just what is intended. This is a time of shedding the old and seeing with fresh eyes. A geographic move may be referenced here. This could also be a time of new employment, new understandings or new solutions. You may find yourself undergoing an inner transformation, where you de-throne old attitudes that no longer serve your vision. Let events happen. Change will wash over you like water.
The Moon is in Scorpio
An emotionally difficult time. There is increased jealousy, greediness, envy and other negative feelings. The colours of the world turn black and white. Sexuality and sensuality go up and strong, powerful emotions run high, whilst diplomacy and tact will noticeably decline. However, it is a good time for any occupation which needs intensity and total devotion.
TAROT: 7 of SWORDS
Lack of Purpose
A confusion of options causes goals to become confused. To go in circles or waste time. A need for assistance and guidance goes unanswered.
Even thought the calendar year starts in January, from a spiritual perspective the year begins in autumn…Michael is the archangel of autumn, and the warrior and protector of all that is good.

Fellowship |
“In NA, our joys are multiplied by sharing good days; our sorrows are lessened by sharing the bad. For the first time in our lives, we don’t have to experience anything alone.”
IP No. 16, For the Newcomer
––––=––––
When we practice using the steps and the other tools of our program to work through our hardships, we become able to take pleasure in the joys of living clean. But our joys pass all too quickly if we don’t share them with others, while hardships borne alone may be long in passing. In the Fellowship of Narcotics Anonymous, we often multiply our joys and divide our burdens by sharing them with one another.
We addicts experience pleasures in recovery that, sometimes, only another addict can appreciate. Fellow members understand when we tell them of the pride we take today in fulfilling commitments, the warmth we feel in mending damaged relationships, the relief we experience in not having to use drugs to make it through the day. When we share these experiences with recovering addicts and they respond with similar stories, our joy is multiplied. The same principle applies to the challenges we encounter as recovering addicts. By sharing our challenges and allowing other NA members to share their strength with us, our load is lightened.
The fellowship we have in Narcotics Anonymous is precious. Sharing together, we enhance the joys and diminish the burdens of life in recovery.
––––=––––
Just for today: I will share my joys and my burdens with other recovering addicts. I will also share in theirs. I am grateful for the strong bonds of fellowship in Narcotics Anonymous.
| Yu: Enthusiam, If you must lead a group, you must also understand others’ intentions and moods. You will be able to fulfill your aims by eliminating every kind of resistance providing that you can understand and go along with everyone. Your enthusiasm will do the rest. |

Attention towards details is on the increase, with a tendency to fault-finding, cleanliness and neatness. It is a good time to undertake routine, painstaking work, and to search for and correct errors. Your body may be more intolerant of low-grade food and harmful substances, and this is a good day to begin a diet.
TAROT: ATU XIX: THE SUN (of course. I’ve been getting this a LOT!!!)
Life
The Sun is the source of all growth and progress. Happiness and joy are powerfully represented here. An environment of positive growth and change. All things are easy to see. The sky becomes clear.
I-Ching: HEXAGRAM #20: MEDITATION
The meaning of this hexagram is meditation and contemplation, but the visual significance is that of a tower with a broad view which enables one to meditate on the wider landscape rather than immediate events. An additional meaning of this tower is that the tower itself can be seen for many miles, suggesting “an example” being set for others. This is a time to reflect carefully on what has gone before, and what is happening now in a broader sense. Decisions made at this time will be witnessed by many.
RUNE OF THE DAY: ISA
Consciousness, Control
Isa represents ice and the stillness of a frozen day. The act of contemplation is referenced here, with an emphasis on stillness and carefully controlled action. Ice solidifies and keeps things in place. Movement is cautious.
