The $94 Question… (Birds Gone Wild)
Question: “How, China, did you manage to spend $94 for Mister Bird’s bird house?
Answer: “Easy! I went to Wild Birds Unlimited.”
Okay…here’s the deal. It’s supposed to snow on Thursday and I felt badly for Mr. Bird, the house sparrow who sits daily on a perch underneath our front awning at the Tiny House-of-Chaos. I thought his tail-feathers might get chilly. So I wanted to buy him a birdhouse that he could call his own for the winter.
That’s fifteen or twenty bucks tops! Right? Wrong.
I went to Wild Birds Unlimited up at Chapel Hill in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. I should have known better. They have beautiful stuff. Just the stuff I — I mean, Mr. Bird — needs! According to their site they offer to:
Let us help you have the best backyard bird feeding experience possible.

Now doesn’t that just sound lovely? Mister Bird would be so happy.
So I got him a bird basket, another bird house (in case it gets too windy and he’d like a more solid structure!), an expandable bird pole, base, wrought iron double hanger, finial and 10 lbs. of organic, premium bird seed.
