Atu XVI-The Devil

(written after reading Liber A’ash  and meditation upon Atu XVI )

It is you who truly created us
Through seed rectified
in the crucible of a drunken, wanton whore
Though the ignorant laugh and call
you horrible names
but their folly is great
you are no sheep

Horoscope – December 2, 2009 (Full Moon)

// December 2nd, 2009 // No Comments » // life the universe and everything, magick, personal

Daily Sun Sign horoscope
Libra – 02 Dec 2009

If you’re getting slightly bored meeting the same companions all the time, then you need to reach out for more adventurous mates who can give you that feeling that life can have less restrictions and limits. Allow your imagination to soar and see where you can aim higher. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Find friends to bounce your ideas around with.

A current desire to go somewhere exotic may heighten your feelings of restlessness today as the Full Moon highlights your 9th House of Adventure. But the Moon is offset by the Sun and your key planet Venus visiting your 3rd House of Immediate Environment, keeping you close to home. Don’t worry if you cannot resolve your current travel dilemma. Dreaming about a great journey might be better now than actually taking one.

You get a fresh perspective on your career and your life’s work this week, thanks to Wednesday’s Full Moon in your 9th House. This could also bring about a publishing or teaching opportunity or a chance to work with someone in a foreign country. Whatever pops up this week emphasizes a big theme that will be ongoing in your life through next summer — the more you connect with other people who share your ideals and values, the more opportunities you allow into your life. There’s a strong picture in your chart that shows that widening your sphere of social influence ultimately brings you financial gain but I’d hate for you to lock onto the money angle too hard. You can’t tell which contacts will benefit you financially and in what labyrinthine ways and through which hidden channels your good will flow to you. But if you connect on the basis of passion and shared values, you can be sure good will come from it. (more…)

moontarot THE MOON

Basic Card Symbols

A full moon (with a crescent within), twin pillars, two dogs/wolves howling, a stream that runs to the ocean, a crayfish emerging out of the water.

Basic Tarot Story

Following the star the Fool travels through the night. The full Moon rises, illuminating for him a watery path. And he begins to feel disoriented, as if walking in his sleep. He passes under the moon, between two pillars ancient and strange. Suddenly, he looks around to find himself in another land entirely. When he was in the presence of the High Priestess, he saw hints of this dark land through the sheer veil draped behind her throne. And later, when he hung from the tree, he felt himself between the physical world and this one. Now, he has at last passed behind the veil. Here are the mysteries he sought, at least, here are the dark mysteries, ones that have to do with the most primal and ancient powers; powers of nature, not of civilization. It is a land poets, artists, musicians and madmen know well, a terrifying, alluring place, with very different rules. Wolves, howling in homage to the moon, run wild across this land, hunting along side maidens with bow and arrows; and creatures from childhood nightmares and fantasies peer from shadows, eyes glowing.

tarot-moon The path the Fool was walking is now a river, and he stands hip-deep in the powerful pull of its salty, moonlit waters. There is, on the nearby shore, a small boat, but it has no rudder, no oar. The Fool realizes he has only two choices. He can lose himself in this desolate, primal land of madness and illusion, howl with the wolves, be hunted down, or he can get into the boat, and trust himself to the river. The moon will be in control either way, but in the boat, his surrender to the powers of the unconscious and the natural world will at least take him somewhere. As the artists and poets and magicians know, inspiration, visions, genius, Moon magic, are the rewards of such surrender. The Fool gets into the boat, and shoves off. As the waters sweep him away, moon beams light his “path” and he feels the Mistress of this dark land gazing down at him with the High Priestess’s approving eyes.

Basic Meaning

tarot_18.moon_ulani With Pisces as its ruling sign, the Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. The Querent who gets this card should be warned that they may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if they have any past mental problems, they must be vigilant in taking their medication. They should avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. They can and should trust their intuition.

Thirteen’s Observations

rwmoon This is the card of that scary, dreamy, secret otherworld where lies the most powerful and dark magic. Primal magic. It is the card that you’d get for Jackson Pollack types, switching between being wild, mean, crazy drunks and creative geniuses. They have wicked mood swings, dark, dark, dark depressions, charming manic modes. They have no inhibitions, don’t even try to behave themselves in polite society, their crazy behavior sometimes inspired, sometimes horribly embarrassing, even unbelievable and even dangerous. But the art, poetry, music they produce….it’s magic. When I get this card, I let the Querent know they’re in for an emotional and mental rollercoaster ride. They can do two things, either wander through this crazy, lunatic landscape howling at the moon (get drunk, wallow in depression, alienate friends and family with wild, antisocial behavior), or get in a boat and go through it purposefully (paint something!).

Divination for Friday, June 5th, 2009

// June 5th, 2009 // No Comments » // magick, personal

I’m a cocky sum-a-bitch at times.  My energy is high, my chi is rocking out and my ego…we’ll she’s giving me fits.  I’m COMPLETELY away today of how much I rock.

Just how much hard work I’ve done and although I still have much, much to do…I have made progress.  I’m able to admit when I’m wrong, learn from those poor choices and move forward.

I’m of sound mind and body and I have a heck of a lot to give.  And GOSHDARNIT…people like me!!! (Except for the fooker in the parking lot yesterday, but he deserved what he got!)

So…things I’ve learned today is it is NOT a good time for me to be speaking about potientially confrontational things.  That if I talk, I’ll end up sounding like a prostetlitizing, know-it-all, judgemental wanker and that isn’t the goal.

So…without further ado, I give my astrological and hookey-wonkey divinations stuff to aid in my progress:

I CHING:  HEX 50 “The Cauldron” - This hexagram symbolizes a rich cauldron of vitality and nourishment. It is an indication of supreme good fortune and an indication that your mind, body and soul will be well taken care of. The caldron is a container for your hopes, dreams and prayers. It is like a spiritual vessel that stores and then carries your dreams to fruition. Any apparent obstacles in your way will dissolve or be altered in such a way that they then act to propel your endeavors forward.  But remember that you are what you consume.  Good things come from good thoughts and energies.

Libra – 05 Jun 2009
If you can accept one particular tricky situation now, you’ll find it easier to handle. You are essentially a good organiser but you are having to force yourself at the moment to be in control of practical situations. Certain old ambitions have lost their fire. Give yourself time to decide what you want to be doing in the long term.
MOON SIGN – Capricorn – 05 Jun 2009
Issues concerning your home may require your urgent attention today. Patience coupled with instinctive action may pay huge dividends. Pay attention to your sixth sense and you may end the day on a happy note.
TAROT – 4 of Swords – Truce
Peace has arrived but the costs have been high.  A time to heal and take measure.  A period of rest.
Dog – 05 Jun 2009
Stability may be what you would most like to cultivate now. No great feats are demanded, just stick to the plan and listen to sound advice. Your fuse may be short however, and your temper could flare up in your personal life. It will serve your interests to keep your perspective.

Really Intersting Tarot reading

// June 4th, 2009 // No Comments » // life the universe and everything, magick, professional

So I’m stuck…I’ve been stuck for two months. I’ve got this reality I’m dealing with that isn’t matching up in word or deed with my subjective (or idealized) reality. I’ve got LOTS of outside interplay lining up to help me manage the interference…and my gut tells me what I’m to do, while my heart yearns to do something else.

Both are completely possible.

So I do a tarot reading today. And get the most interesting cards:

Knight of Cups

Card 1: Meaning – Self Image

This position gives insight into the queren’t view of himself or herself. It is in many ways the basis for love, and forms a powerful force affecting the spread as a whole.

Knight of Cups – Quests

Goals are far away and require a journey either physical or spiritual. The Knight of Cups represents creativity and yearning. Fulfillment exists but may be far away. A journey begins.

The Lovers

Card 2: Romantic Energy

This position does not point to the romance between any specific people, but rather the overall emotional and romantic energy surrounding the querent. What forces are at work?

The Lovers – Relationships

Harmony, beauty and perfection at work here. The ties between people are strong. An overwhelming responsibility for close companions. Dedication.

IV of Pentacles

Card 3 : Meaning – Union

This position gives insight into the interplay between two specific people. What energies and forces come to bear on their relationship?

4 of Pentacles – Force of Nature

A coming together of powerful energies. A confluence of power which overcomes limitations that had existed previously. A beneficial coincidence.

II of Wands (Reversed)

Card 4: Yin: First Partner (me)

This position gives insight into the querent, or if the couple in question does not include the querent: whichever partner in the relationship is closest to the querent in terms of friendship or family

2 of Wands [ inverted meaning ]

A loss has been sustained. A time of surveying damages and accounting for assets lost. An issue of insurance or liabilities.

The Hanged Man

Card 5: Yang: Second Partner (you)

This position gives insight into the other partner in the relationship (across from Position #4). And represents forces at work in his or her life.

The Hanged Man – Punishment

A suffering is due. An involuntary sacrifice. A penalty which may be warranted due to misdeeds, or unwarranted due to uniqueness and difference.

The Star

Card 6: Romantic Future

This position illustrates the potential for the two partners in the future. What forces will have an effect in their lives? A person in this position may indicate a third person coming into play somehow.

The Star – Hope

Faith brings unexpected assistance. Dreams should never be put aside and must always remain part of one’s personal life-equation. Hope springs eternal as does the light of the star. Look far into the distance.
